The 30th annual WEEC took place in Atlanta, Georgia on August 15-17th. The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) teamed up with U.S. EPA Energy Star and the Alliance to Save Energy and presented a comprehensive energy management training event for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and government marketplace. The theme for this year’s WEEC was “Preparing your Organization for the New World of Carbon Reduction”. The program highlights included:
- U.S. EPA’s Energy Star GreenStreet
- Sustainable Development and Green Buildings
- Green Trading
- Industrial Energy Management
- Transportation
- Renewable Energy
- International ESCO Opportunities
This year’s agenda included 14 concurrent tracks featuring over 200 speakers and a comprehensive two day exposition presenting the latest advances in energy efficiency and the newest renewable energy technologies. Viconics Electronics was one of the exhibitors and showcased the Viconics’ Communicating Thermostats. The Viconics’ booth was manned by Ralph Beaudry and Doug Gettig, and traffic was very busy throughout the two day expo. The leads generated were numerous and high quality, which ranged from energy mangers from federal, state, local and private industry to corporation leaders and building managers. The interest was very heavy in Viconics’ new wireless communicating thermostats and PIR products, and attendees wanted more information on these products when available. Overall the Expo was a huge success for Viconics.
