Viconics’ innovative R842 electronic relay has been designed for silent control of high voltage resistive heater loads (120V to 600 V a.c.) from a low voltage control circuit. An excellent alternative to mercury relays, typical applications include control of electric baseboard and cabinet heaters in commercial buildings. The R842 can has a life cycle of at least 500,000 cycles at full load. This is accomplished through the use of zero-cross firing technology, which places very little load on the relay contact at time of contact closure.
