Position: Control Test Engineer (E21)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Department: Engineering
Job Description:
As part of a dynamic member of the research and development team at Viconics, the Control Test Engineer will be the key person for all lab test needs and test facilities within the engineering department. The candidate will create test plans and develop and debug test programs. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing test data and writing test reports as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for upgrading and automating the test rooms and test chambers
- The control test engineer will co-ordinate the test plan with key engineering personnel
- Responsible for product qualifications to product and engineering specifications
- Responsible for all product related tests, including electrical tests, functional tests, network integration tests, reliability testing and environmental tests
- Will assist in the development of embedded test firmware routine during the product development cycle, to facilitate and reduce product testing.
- Will assist in the development of production test jigs and test software
- Assist in the pre-qualification tests, for the various EMC and safety requirement certification such as CSA, UL, CE, FCC and others
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering degree with minimum five years of experience
- Knowledge of control theories and simulation
- Knowledge of VEE or Labview
- Knowledge of microcontroller, digital and analog electronics
- Knowledge of several programming languages such as C, C++ visual Basic and VB scripting
- Knowledge of ANSI C and assembler for embedded controllers is an Asset
- Knowledge of electronic components and circuits
- Knowledge of IEEE network interfaces, Modbus, BACnet and Echelon
Other:
- Bilingual with communication and computer skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems an asset
- Organized and self- motivated team player
