[Question]

I am using the T7600 (older version of the VT7600) with LON communication. When setting the occupancy through the network, using the nviOccManCmd, the user is not able to override the unoccupied mode through the thermostat.

[Answer]

To begin, this issue was solved with the VT7600 version. The reason for that with the T7600 is that when writing using nviOccManCmd, the occupancy would get to the thermostat under either Unoccupied Hold (if Unoccupied command) or Occupied Hold (if Occupied command), and an Unoccupied Hold status cannot be overridden.
Here’s the workaround for that situation:

Issue:
- Local occupancy on the stat is Occupied.
- After 5p.m. (example), an Unoccupied command is sent from the network. The thermostat becomes in Unoccupied Hold. The user is not able to override.

Workaround:
- Wire a jumper from the BI1 terminal to the Com terminal and set the parameter BI1 to RemNSB so that the stat is in Unoccupied mode by default.
- Send an Occupied command from the network from 8a.m. to 5p.m. (example). The thermostat will be in Occupied Hold (no need to override in occupied period).
- After 5p.m., send a Null command from the network. This will release the occupancy of the thermostat to its local status (Unoccupied, because of the jumper).

The overall status of the occupancy is the same as the first situation, but the user is able to override the Unoccupied mode.
